On February, 12 the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg J.-C.Juncker received the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Zhigalov on the occasion of completion of diplomatic mission
On February, 12 in Luxembourg the Prime Minister of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker received the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Konstantin Zhigalov on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission.
In the framework of the meeting the exchange of opinions on wide range of issues was held. It was mentioned that the meetings of the head of government of Luxembourg and the leadership of our country held during the official visit last year gave a fresh impetus to the development of collaboration between the two states. The dynamic character of development of relationship between Kazakhstan and European Union was positively appreciated during the meeting.
K. Zhigalov underlined the necessity to take Kazakhstan-European relationship to a qualitatively new partnership level. In this regard Kazakhstani diplomat informed on Astana intension on signing a new cooperation agreement with the European Union. That fact that the State program “The way to Europe” and the European Union Strategy on Central Asia could become the base for this document, was noted through the meeting.
J.-C. Juncker, who said during his visit paid to Astana that our country is “a generator of regional stability”, underlined once again the very important role of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and wished every success to Kazakhstan during the coming OSCE Chairmanship in 2010.
The head of government renewed the invitation to the leadership of Kazakhstan to repay a visit to Luxembourg.
In the framework of the meeting J.-C. Juncker on behalf of Grand Duke Henri presented Zhigalov with the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit, a high state award for his contribution to the development of a strong relationship between the two countries.
The same day K. Zhigalov held a meeting with the deputy prime-minister - the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn, who also appreciated in value the dynamic character of the development of partnership between the two states.
