"THE DIPLOMATIC HERALD"
The DIPLOMATIC HERALD is the official political publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is published in two languages (Kazakh and Russian) since 1996 and devoted to acute issues of foreign policy activity of the country, issues of regional and global security. The journal is, in a sense, the only publication in Kazakhstan that publishes the contractual basis of interstate relations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This is a quarterly illustrated publication that contains the official part which chronologically gives an account of visits, meetings, statements and interviews of the Head of the State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visits of officials of other countries and international organizations to Kazakhstan. Decrees of the President on new appointments in the diplomatic corps of the country as well as presentation of credentials and decoration of ambassadors are published.
Various aspects of Kazakhstan’s economic and humanitarian ties with other countries and international organizations for the current term are covered in the section “Economic and Humanitarian Ties of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the World Community”. Articles on acute topics of bilateral and multilateral relations of ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries are published here.
The section “A History of Kazakh Diplomacy” excites particular interest of readers who can learn about the history of formation of the foreign policy and diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It also contains a special section “Diplomat – Personality” dedicated to prominent diplomats contributing to the development of the diplomatic service of Kazakhstan.
Press briefings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appear in the “Press Centre of the MFA Information and Publishing Council reports…” section where Ministry’s official spokesman highlights both past and upcoming most significant events in Kazakhstan and the world.
The pages of the journal contain analytical articles of leading Kazakh and foreign researchers, politicians and public figures on most topical issues of international life.
The “New Publications and Reviews” page announces newly published monographs, textbooks and collections on foreign policy and international ties.
The journal with a circulation of 700 copies is sent to more than 100 foreign embassies and representatives of international organizations accredited in Kazakhstan as well as diplomatic missions of our country abroad. It is also sent to all leading higher education institutions and national research institutions.
Today it is a good source of information which represents real interest of both professional diplomats and those who are interested in modern state and history of the development of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy activity. It is a journal-on-demand in the work of the diplomatic corps, state and public bodies of the country in strengthening Kazakhstan’s positive image at the international arena.
